India

To leave the United States for a little while is a privilege. It never ceases to amaze me how comfortable I can get in my very American way of life and forget about the struggles of the rest of the world. In India, you can feel the darkness. the devil has no problem being very open about his presence. In the midst of all of this though, you find faithful Christians, living for Christ no matter the cost.

Mason is Five

We finally had Mason's birthday party! His actual birthday is December 30, but life is usually crazy that time of the year! Mr. Bob was so generous to let us have Mason's party out at his farm. The boys had a great time. The party was complete with BB guns, Hayride and campfire, not to mention all hte sugar a little person can handle! I can remember thinking, during those long sleepless nights, when Mason was a baby, that he would never be old enough to go to school. And here we are, with Mason starting Kindergarten in the Fall. My baby is growing up!

Whitley is Three

Whitley turned three, Nov. 18! It has gone by so fast. For her birthday party, we took Whit and her friends to make bears at Teddy Bear Connection. We had lots of fun and the girls really enjoyed making their bears. I made cupcakes for the party instead of buyin them, which was a first for me!

The Fort Worth Air Show

We took a Sunday off and went to the Fort Worth Alliance Air Show! There were military exibitions and all kinds of really cool planes! Mason and John were in heaven and Whit and I were along for the ride. I have to admit, I thought it was really cool! It was fun to watch Mason get so excited and dream about being a pilot. This is the first time that he has said he wants to do anything other than work with his daddy! Whitley found her calling too! She wants to be a conductor on a train so that she can open the door and let people on and off! Her idea not mine! Anyway, enjoy the pics! We had a really good time and if the Blue Angels fly near you, make every effort to go see them it is well worth it!

Ukraine thoughts

I was thinking about the Ukraine today and remembered all my sweet friends. These are a few of the pics from my last trip! Although this trip was signifigantly shorter than the first, I think the impact on my heart was even bigger. I knew what to expect this time, and that allowed my heart to see and feel even more. The children's faces were familar and still had the same look of wonder and pain. It is amazing to me how people so far removed from my life could so profoundly open my eyes to the world. I had heard the term biblical worldview so many times in my young ministry life, but now not only do I know the term first hand, it also has a face (actually many faces). Thank you to all of my Ukrainian friends your lives have forever changed mine!

Hopefully we will be able to return next summer with a team of families from Grace.
